The license plates used in the SS #670 webpages were generated using the ACME License Maker. The image manipulation is done with pbmplus and Adobe Photoshop.

Many of the early digital images found here were taken by my friend Jef Poskanzer using his Sony FD-91 digital still camera. More recently he's been using a Panasonic DMC-FZ10. Here's a shot of Jef in action:

More recent shots were taken by me with a Sony DSC-F505V.

As with Jef's FD-91, the DSC-F505V has an excellent macro mode for extreme close-ups. I also started using a spare hunk of Corian left over from a kitchen remodel for close-ups.

The UPF-58 is 3/4" taller than the UPF-44.
